Water Baptism

Water baptism is an important next step for anyone who has decided to follow Jesus. It’s a powerful, public declaration of your faith and a moment to celebrate the new life you have found in Christ. If you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, baptism is for you.

WHAT IS WATER BAPTISM?

Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision. Being baptised doesn’t make you a Christian — we are saved through faith in Jesus, but baptism is a public declaration that you have chosen to follow Him.

Going under the water represents leaving your old life behind, and coming out of the water represents the new life you now have in Christ.

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that… we too may live a new life.” — Romans 6:4

WHY SHOULD I BE BAPTISED?
Jesus was baptised, He instructed His followers to baptise others, and throughout the New Testament we see people responding to faith in Jesus by being baptised.

Baptism is an act of obedience, a declaration of faith and a significant marker in your journey with Jesus. You don’t need to know everything or have everything sorted before being baptised. If you have put your faith in Jesus and decided to follow Him, you’re ready to take this step.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
We hold water baptisms during selected Sunday services at Glow. You’ll meet with someone from our team beforehand so we can explain what will happen, answer any questions and make sure you feel prepared.
On the day, you’ll be baptised by full immersion in water as you publicly declare your faith in Jesus. Your church family will be there to celebrate the moment with you.
