A church built around everyday faith, genuine belonging and growing together.

Our Story
Glow Church began in a living room in Newton Aycliffe in 1967, when a small group of families gathered to pray, share life and believe that God could do something significant in County Durham.
From those simple beginnings, the church has grown and changed through the generations, but the heart remains the same: people finding faith, building genuine relationships and making a difference in the world around them. Today, Glow is home to people of different ages, backgrounds and stories, united by a shared faith in Jesus and a belief that the local church can bring hope and light to its community.
Glow is a locally led Christian church and UK-registered charity based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. We are part of Assemblies of God Great Britain and connected with churches and Christian organisations both nationally and internationally.
Our 4.2-acre campus is alive throughout the week. Alongside our Sunday services, it is home to Glow Nursery, Glow Coffee and our venue and event spaces, as well as groups, ministries and activities serving people across our community.
Whether you have followed Jesus for years, are returning to church or are simply exploring faith, there is a place for you at Glow.

Good News
Jesus described His followers as “the light of the world.”
That picture shapes the kind of church we want to be, a church whose faith can be seen beyond its walls and whose presence makes a genuine difference to the people and places around us.
We want to help people know Jesus, grow in faith, discover purpose and take the light and hope of Jesus into their families, workplaces and communities.
Matthew 5:14–16 says...
“You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
At the centre of everything we believe is Jesus. Christianity begins with the good news that God loves us and has made a way for us to know Him through Jesus Christ. Jesus lived, died on the cross and rose again so that we can be forgiven, restored to God and receive new and eternal life. That good news shapes our teaching, worship and the way we seek to live.

Beliefs
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our ultimate authority for what we believe and how we live.
God
We believe in one true and eternal God, Creator of all things, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, fully God and fully human. He lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven and will return again.
Humanity & Sin
We believe humanity was created by God and for relationship with Him, but sin separates us from God and cannot be overcome through our own efforts.
Salvation
We believe salvation is found through Jesus Christ alone. Everyone who turns to Him in repentance and faith can receive forgiveness, new life and eternal life.
Water Baptism & Communion
We believe followers of Jesus should be baptised by full immersion in water as a public declaration of their faith. We regularly share Communion together, remembering and celebrating what Jesus accomplished through His death and resurrection.

Beliefs
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, empowering believers to live for Jesus, serve others and participate in His mission.
Spiritual Gifts
We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the Church today and that God equips His people with spiritual gifts to strengthen the Church and serve His purposes.
Living Like Jesus
We believe following Jesus transforms how we live. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, we are called to grow in holiness, become more like Christ and reflect Him in every area of life.
Healing & the Miraculous
We believe God is alive and active today. We believe in prayer, divine healing and the miraculous power of God, and we trust Him in every circumstance.
Eternity & the Return of Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ will personally return. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, eternal life with God for those who belong to Christ, and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.
