Wide open spaces
Glow has always been more than four walls; we’re a family on mission. Now God is inviting us to enlarge the place of our tent—creating wide open spaces where every generation can gather, grow and go.

Why Wide Open Spaces?
Glow is growing — and with growth comes opportunity. We have an incredible building and campus, but with some smart alterations we can maximise every square metre to better serve people and strengthen ministry.
The phrase Wide Open Spaces' comes from Psalm 18:19 — “He brought me out into a wide-open place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.” It reminds us that God brings His people into freedom and expansion — both physically and spiritually.
This project is about more than walls and walkways. It’s about creating room for people to encounter Jesus. From children discovering faith for the first time, to families finding community, to neighbours discovering hope through everyday connection.
As we redesign, repurpose, and renew our spaces, we’re declaring that Glow Church will always make room, for people, for presence, and for purpose.

Where we are now
Over the past two years, we’ve received two Vision Offerings for 'Wide Open Spaces', and thanks to your generosity, faith, and prayer, we’ve been busy turning vision into reality.
Phase 1 is now fully completed, debt-free, and already transforming lives. The former Trio coffee shop has been beautifully converted into a dual-use space for Glow Kids and Little Cubs Nursery, with child-sized facilities, warm interiors, and flexible rooms that serve both ministries.
This has enabled our preschool to grow significantly, creating new weekday nursery places for families in our community and more room for children every Sunday.
Phase 2 is now underway, and so much has already changed. From new flooring and family spaces to the start of our community prayer garden, every area is being designed to make our building more welcoming, functional, and ready for growth.
We’re still growing as a church — and with that comes the need to keep expanding, adapting, and making space for all that God is doing. What once felt full now feels full of potential again. Together, we’re shaping a home that truly serves our mission: serving our local community, helping people encounter Jesus and belong to His family.

What we have achieved together (Phase 1)
Between 2024–25, your generosity turned vision into reality. Together, we’ve already completed Phase 1 — fully funded and debt-free, with every pound carefully invested to create spaces that serve both ministry and community.
Financial Summary (2024/25):
-
Vision Offering: £41,000
-
Grant funding: £8,000
-
Gift Aid reclaimed: £9,000
-
Glow Church investment from reserves: £11,000
Total Investment: £69,000
Those funds enabled us to:
-
Transform the former Trio coffee shop into a dual-use Glow Kids and Little Cubs Nursery suite with Ofsted-rated facilities.
-
Upgrade the preschool kitchen with commercial appliances and new equipment.
-
Create a new Trio in the main foyer — placing hospitality at the heart of the building.
-
Complete external works including storage, garden improvements, sound and security upgrades.
-
Build a new fenced nursery garden and refreshed meeting spaces in Auditorium 1.
Every investment has helped make our building safer, brighter, and better equipped for growth, ensuring it remains a place of welcome and encounter for years to come.

What's happening now (Phase 2)
Following two incredible Vision Offerings, we’ve entered Phase 2 of Wide Open Spaces, building on the strong foundation already laid. Your continued generosity has given us the momentum to keep moving forward and keep growing.
Financial Summary (2025):
-
Vision Offering (pledged & received): £31,000
-
Gift Aid estimate: £5,500
-
Grant funding: £3,500
Total Investment for Phase 2: £40,000
These funds are now being put to work through a series of essential upgrades and new developments that will make a lasting impact:
-
Completion of the Community Prayer Garden
-
A new intercom system linking the foyer to the first-floor offices
-
Car park extension adding 20+ new spaces
-
Repainting and re-marking of all car park bays
-
Large exterior Glow signage on the main building
-
New flooring in Trio seating areas
-
Bin-store relocation for improved access and safety
Depending on remaining funds, we also aim to complete:
-
A rear access door for Trio
-
A new outdoor patio area and Trio furniture
Every upgrade makes our building more welcoming, functional, and future-ready, ensuring that as our church family grows, our home grows with it.

A vision beyond the walls
These renovations are about far more than improving our surroundings, they’re about people and presence. As Phase 2 unfolds, the new foyer, patio, and community prayer garden are being designed to bring church and everyday life together.
We’re creating spaces that draw people together throughout the week, not just on Sundays. Parents will relax over coffee while their children are at school in Little Cubs and people will be able to pause for a moment of with a coffee before work. Friends and small groups will gather in the garden to talk, pray, and connect. Every detail — from the seating and planting is intentional, turning our building into a living invitation for people to encounter Jesus.
By summer 2026, our initial goal will be complete: a fully utilised, modernised campus that welcomes our community, strengthens connection, and reflects the warmth and generosity of God’s house — inside and out.

Looking ahead
Even as Phase 2 continues, our eyes are already on what’s next. The heart behind Wide Open Spaces has never just been renovation — it’s about readiness. We want our building to keep pace with our growth and vision, staying flexible, safe, and welcoming for every person who walks through our doors.
Looking ahead, our next areas of investment are clear. We’re believing to install new auditorium seating, increasing comfort and capacity for future gatherings, and to implement a comprehensive CCTV and site security upgrade, ensuring our campus remains safe, modern, and compliant. Discussion are also underway about how we develop live streaming of our services to increase reach and impact beyond our local community. Exciting days ahead!
These projects mark the next step in our ongoing commitment to stewarding what God has entrusted to us — not just maintaining a facility, but preparing a home that can serve people for generations to come.

Thank you
To every person who has prayed, served, and given — thank you!
Your generosity over these past two years has transformed drawings into reality, and spaces into stories. To date, more than £110,000 has been invested into the Wide Open Spaces vision through offerings, grants, and Glow’s own resources - a testament to faith in action and unity in purpose.
The vision doesn’t stop here. As we complete Phase 2 and look toward the next stage, you can still be part of this story. Every new gift, large or small, continues to move the project forward and create more room for lives to be changed.
